Frap Tools Fumana — Impulse Response Pack

A collection of five impulse responses captured from the Frap Tools Fumana eurorack module, a dual 16-band spectral filter bank inspired by the Buchla 296e Spectral Processor. This pack brings Fumana’s rich spectral shaping into your DAW via convolution — letting you filter any sound through its beautifully crafted analog curves.

About

Captured in stereo at 48kHz/24bit, these IRs represent various band configurations and tonal emphases from the Fumana. Some files are separate stereo channels (noted as "L" and "R") — to be loaded together as a stereo IR in convolution plugins that support dual-channel files.

These IRs are particularly well-suited for imparting analog-like spectral shaping onto digital material, adding harmonic focus, tilt curves, and band-limited coloration to drums, synths, voice, and more.

Files are provided in .aif format and tested in Ableton Live 12, but should work in any convolution plugin that accepts standard stereo IRs.

Play with the Attack setting in your convolver, as this drastically changes the frequency response!

Contents

Spectral IRs from Fumana:

  • Fumana Full Spectrum — Broadband curve across the full 16-band range
  • Fumana Dark 1 — Low-frequency focus with rolled-off highs
  • Fumana HP 1 — High-pass–like character with filtered low end

Stereo IRs (Left and Right channels):

  • Fumana Even 60s (L + R) — Even-numbered band output
  • Fumana Odd 60s (L + R) — Odd-numbered band output

Note: For convolution plugins requiring interleaved stereo files, you may need to combine the L/R channels manually.

Format & Compatibility

  • File Type: .aif
  • Audio Format: 48kHz / 24-bit
  • Tested in: Ableton Live 12
  • Compatible with: Any convolution plugin that supports stereo impulse responses (.aif or .wav)

Usage

  • For stereo IRs: Load the L and R files as separate channels if your plugin supports dual mono-to-stereo loading.
  • Ableton Live: Drag the .aif files into Hybrid Reverb or any IR loader that supports stereo input.
  • Ableton Live installation, copy contents of the "Ableton Presets" folder into the appropriate subfolders in the Ableton User Library folder:For .wav files: Ableton User Library/Samples/ImportedFor .adv presets: Ableton User Library/Presets/Audio Effects/Hybrid Reverb
